Everyone seemed to be cranky last night. The actors, the crew, the director, just everybody. It apparently stemmed from rehearsal going past 10. I don't understand that at all. Most of us are unemployed. And after 10 o'clock is not very late! I was home before 11. Old people stay up and watch the news until 11. And tech rehearsals generally last forever. It's tech week. You don't get to go home! You're in the (Shakespearean) army now! Chill out, all you crankypantses.
We made it through the whole show! Nothing caught on fire! Nothing broke! We were not rained on! People from the community did not boo us off stage! Homeless people did not storm the stage and stab us with needles! Zombies did not trap us in the bunker and eat half the cast! All things considered, it was one of the smoother tech rehearsals I've been through.
Let's hope tonight's is more of the same, only a little less angsty.
